Bovine Collagen Placement - Treatment of Facial Features

Collagen is injected with the aim of:

• improving the contour of skin;
• reducing facial depressions due to scars, trauma or folds which appear in the course of skin aging.

Collagen injections are effective, temporary treatments for:

Glabellar lines - frown lines which run between the eyebrows

Perioral lines - lines commonly found in smoker's skin, they run vertically around the mouth, and are particularly prominent above the lip

Oral commissures - otherwise known as "marionette lines", they appear around the corners of the mouth, and are also especially prevalent among smokers skin.

Forehead lines - these run along the width of the forehead, and are also known as "worry lines."

Periorbital lines - commonly referred to as "crow's feet," these tight wrinkles, accentiated by facial expressions appear at the corners of the eyes.

Nasolabial furrows - "deep smile lines" while run from the side of the nose to the corners of the mouth.

Depressed cheek contours.

Facial scars (some, not all).

Acne scars (some, not all).

Collagen may also be implanted into the lips, to redefine the vermillion border, enhancing the "pout" of the lips while reducing "lipstick bleed."
