Facial Massage

Facial massage technique - treating the cheeks with Japanese shiatsu...

There are four shiatzu points on each cheek. Use your thumbs on the corresponding points simultaneously.

  • Start with the pair of points directly below the centers of the eyes, one finger-width below the center of the lower ridge of the eye sockets. Give moderate (1 s-pound) pressure for three seconds. Pause.
  • Move your thumbs back two finger-widths below the first points, on a line with the bottom of the nose. Give moderate (15-pound) pressure for three seconds. Pause.
  • Move your thumbs out toward the sides of the face. Locate the highest points of the cheekbones, slightly below the outer corners of the eyes. Repeat the moderate pressure for three seconds. Pause.
  • Move your thumbs out toward the sides of the face, two finger-widths below the highest points of the cheekbones. Repeat the moderate pressure for three seconds. Pause.
