Facial Massage

Facial massage using Japanese shiatsu - acting on the forehead...

Kneel above your partner's head. You should be able to reach the top of the head without stretching.

The points on the forehead run down five lines between the hairline and the line of the eyebrows.

The first line runs down the center of the forehead.

The second and third (a pair) run from the hairline through the middle of each of the eyebrows.

The fourth and fifth (another pair) run from the hairline down to the outside ends of the eyebrows.

  • Place your thumbs side by side at the widow's peak. Give moderate (15-pound) pressure for three seconds. Pause.
  • Move the thumbs two finger-widths down the line toward the nose. Repeat the pressure. Pause.
  • Move to the point between the eyebrows and repeat the moderate pressure. Pause.
  • Separate your thumbs and move them back to the hairline at the beginning of the lines that run down to the middle of the eyebrows. Give moderate (Is-pound) pressure for three seconds. Pause.
  • Move down these lines at two finger-width intervals, ending at the points at the center of the eyebrows.
  • Move your thumbs back to the hairline at the top of the two outside lines. Move down these lines at two finger-width intervals. Give moderate pressure at each point, ending at the outer edges of the eyebrows.

The next step of the Japanese facial massage using shiatsu treats the eye area.
