Facial Massage

Japanese facial massage procedure for the face cheeks...

Keep the tips of your middle fingers on top of the nails of your index fingers. There are four points on each cheek. Press the corresponding points on the right and left cheeks simultaneously.

  • The first pair of points is directly below the centers of the eyes, one finger-width down from the center of the lower ridge of the eye sockets. Give moderate (10-pound) pressure for three seconds. Pause.
  • Move two finger-widths out toward the sides of the face to the high point of the cheekbones, slightly below the outer corners of the eyes. Repeat the moderate (10-pound) pressure for three seconds. Pause.
  • Move your fingers back to 3 the points directly below the initial points, on a line with the bottom of the nose. Give moderate pressure for three seconds. Pause.
  • Move your fingers two finger-widths out toward the sides of the face, and one finger-width below the high point of the cheekbones. Repeat moderate (10-pound) pressure. Hold for three seconds.

After the cheeks have been treated, the next area for facial massage using Japanese shiatsu in this protocol is the peri-oral region (mouth and surrounds), and concentrates on toning, improving and preventing vertical lip lines.
