Facial Massage

Facial massage technique (pre-facial shiatsu relaxation phase); the ankles...

Kneel beside your partner's right knee, looking toward the right ankle.

Place your right thumb on the inside of the ankle, in the top of the recess between the anklebone and the Achilles tendon.

Place your left thumb on the corresponding point at the outside of the ankle.

Wrap your fingers around the front of the ankle.

  • Give moderate (15-pound) pressure with both thumbs for three seconds. Pause.
  • Move both thumbs down the inside of the Achilles tendon to the deep recess between the back of the anklebone and the tendon. Repeat the moderate pressure. Pause.
  • Move your thumbs down to the recess above the top of , the heel. Repeat the pressure. Hold for three seconds. Pause.
  • Move to your partner's left and repeat the pressures on the left ankle.

The next step of pre-facial massage using this technique of Japanese shiatsu for relaxation focuses on the soles of the feet.
