Facial Massage

Facial massage technique preparation step #2 is Japanese spine shiatsu...

  • Place your thumbs side by side midway between the bottom of the shoulder blades and the waistline, two finger-widths to the right of the spine. Give moderate (15-pound) pressure for three seconds. Pause.
  • Move your thumbs down to a point halfway to the waistline. Repeat the pressure. Pause.
  • Move directly down to the waistline and repeat the moderate (15-pound) pressure. Pause.
  • Move back up to a point four finger-widths to the right of the spine, midway between the bottom of the shoulder blade and the waistline. Repeat the previous sequence on the line, ending at the waist.
  • Repeat the sequence on the left side of the spine, first two finger-widths out from the spine, then four finger-widths out from the spine.

The next step in this Japanese facial massage technique focuses on the ankles.
