Facial Massage

Facial massage - the neck - using Japanese shiatsu and digitopressure...

Remain at the right of your partner's upper body. You should be able to reach the neck comfortably without stretching your arms.

Although specific points are shown in the illustration, you'll need to use them only as a general guide.

The idea is to cover the neck area thoroughly at this point of the facial massage.

Just cover the general area, starting beneath the jaw and working down to the base of the neck.

Use the index and middle finger of both hands, alternating your right and left hands.

  • Place the index and middle fingers of your right hand under the jaw beside the top of the windpipe. Give light (10-pound) pressure at the top of a line made by the side of the windpipe and the muscle. Be careful not to press directly on the windpipe, but into the muscle. Hold for two seconds. Pause.
  • Place the index and middle fingers of your left hand just below the point you have just pressed with your right hand. Repeat the light pressure.
  • Continue to move straight down alongside the windpipe, alternating your hands to give light pressure, until you reach the base of the neck.
  • Bring your hands back up to the top of the neck under the jaw. Repeat the pressures; alternating your hands along a descending line to the base of the neck.
  • Continue the light (10-pound) pressures from the top of the neck to the base until you have covered the right side of the neck.
  • Move to your partner's left side and repeat the sequences on the left side of the neck.
  • Conclude the facial massage using digitopressure on the temples.
